The nutritional industry has been booming for many years now. This boom caused the unfortunate birth of many GREEDY nutritional manufacturers who are extremely well versed on the lack of regulation on all nutritional products. How you ask? Here's how manufacturers do it:

2. Next, SCAMMING VITAMIN MANUFACTURERS line up by the hundreds to take advantage of the public's heightened interest.
3. These manufacturers then make a supplement containing this SUPERFOOD or VITAMIN or MINERAL. In order to cut costs, they find the CHEAPEST SUPERFOOD or VITAMIN or MINERAL. Cheap means very POOR QUALITY.
4. Simply put, these aren't perfectly RIPE SUPERFOODS. These CHEAP SUPERFOODS are the ones that are rotten and/or oxidized. Many times, these cheap superfoods have little, if any, nutritional value. Many of these short cut supplements contain harmful byproducts.
5. These manufacturers know that they ONLY NEED TO HAVE A TINY AMOUNT of a SUPERFOOD or VITAMIN or MINERAL to list it on the label. So, they put a few DROPS of this Superfood or VITAMIN or MINERAL into a BIG BOTTLE.
6. Finally, they sell these alleged SUPERFOOD products for a High PRICE.
7. They charge unrelated fees, sell your information, and end up disappearing in a matter of a few months.

So, I'm very SORRY to tell you that most nutritional products on the market contain VERY SMALL AMOUNTS of claimed superfoods and are BAD nutritional products.

Unfortunately, I personally discovered through the formulation of various nutritional products just how DIRTY the nutritional industry actually is. Let me give you a scenario:

1. I come up with a great formula for a nutritional supplement.
2. Next, I contract a manufacturer to make my product.
3. Then, the manufacturer makes my formula and has it tested to ensure that all my ingredients are in my formula.
4. If I am pleased with the testing, I then start selling my product.
5. The next thing you know, I am selling thousands of bottles per month.
6. THIS is when the proverbial light bulb in the manufacturer's eyes goes off. Greedy manufacturers start decreasing the amount of some of the good ingredients in the formula IN ORDER TO INCREASE THEIR OWN PROFIT MARGIN. They then use cheap fillers to fill in the gaps.

Unfortunately, in tablets/pills/powders, this happens all the time. In fact, go to your local health food store or pharmacy right now and randomly buy 20 bottles of vitamin pills. Then, send these off for testing to actually see if what is on their label is actually in the bottle. I bet that a very significant percentage of the labels would be inaccurate. Because the FDA doesn't regulate vitamins, OUR American public is undoubtedly getting bamboozled.

In 2007, the independent testing organization called Consumer Labs tested dozens of vitamin products like tablets, capsules, chewables, and liquids, which were marketed specifically for seniors, women, men, prenatal, and children.
